Jenny and Jane

A pair of twins so fair and lovely.
A pair of girls so sweet.
Jenny and Jane,
the daughters of Mdm.Marie,
wandered around the square.
They went to fairs and praised the lads.
They knew that they were famous.
Jenny, the elder twin,
loved to sing.
She danced and swirled whenever she can.
Jenny loved to be watched by envious eyes.
She craved the limelight and wore her pride.
She stood firm with her head held high,
accepting applause and admirers of all kinds.
Jane, on the other hand, was too quiet a lady.
She was humble and simple,
plain and easy.
She loved to read and ride ponies,
but never in her life did she yearned for agony.
She helped others in the silence and worked behind the scenes.
She gritted her teeth and worked like a bee,
never to be recognised, to be praised like a queen.
Jenny and Jane were sisters of a kind.
One was pleasant, the other was kind.
People loved Jenny but none acknowledged Jane.
Their parents praised Jenny and forgot about Jane.
Jenny the star and Jane the slave.
One willingly ordered, the other willingly obeyed.
Such is the story of Jenny and Jane.
So contrary the lives of sisters from a womb.
So unique as the twins of Mdm. Marie.
So intriguing as
Jenny and Jane.
